Eric Sarner has served as Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel for Lee & Associates NYC (Lee NYC) since 2012.

Mr. Sarner is primarily charged with overseeing the day-to-day operations of Lee NYC, guiding the company's accounting department, managing the company’s finances, and serving as chief counsel. He leverages extensive legal and accounting expertise, as well as a holistic approach to operational strategy, to enhance the organization’s operations and performance.

As General Counsel for Lee NYC, Eric provides oversight of the company’s day-to-day legal affairs, ensures legal and regulatory compliance, and engages and oversees outside counsel in litigation matters. He also has 25+ years of real estate transactions experience, including acquisitions and dispositions, 1031 exchange transactions, mortgage financing and constructions loans, joint venture agreements, brokerage commission agreements and more. In addition, he has personally represented landlords in leasing transactions totaling several million square feet over his career.

Mr. Sarner also has a formidable track record in commercial property management, once leading the operation and direction of Lee NYC’s Property Management division, which comprised of a diverse 35-asset portfolio of commercial office and multifamily properties. After 9 years of heading this 20-person team, Lee NYC shifted its full attention to commercial leasing in 2021. To this day, Eric continues to oversee the Lee NYC property management portfolio as asset manager, while the day-to-day operations are performed by Lee NYC’s strategic property management partner.

Eric has proven to be an effective, hands-on leader for Lee NYC, demonstrating the ability to effectively manage people through motivation and team-building, and building authentic and trusting relationships with clientele and colleagues through a tireless work ethic, creative problem solving, and sound and responsible decision-making. He also has a unique perspective to understanding client needs and expections through a career of working with JV partners, lenders and landlords.

Eric holds a Juris Doctor from Hofstra University School of Law and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from the same institution. He resides in Manhattan with his wife and two teenage daughters.
